Egyptian Steel Celebrates the Opening of The 11th Village

Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, Minister of Local Development, Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Ashraf Al Araby Minister of Planning, Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima CEO of Egyptian Steel Group, Major General Magdy Hegazy, Governor of Aswan Governorate, General Mamdouh Shabaan, and the General Director of Al Orman Association inaugurated Toshka Village as part of the Nubia Development Project in Aswan Governorate.
The development project of this village included the revamping of 52 houses fully furnished & equipped with electrical devices. Some of these houses have been revamped and others have been maintained while keeping the Nubian-style architecture. In addition to clamshell, paint work, supplying  water and electricity to these houses, the project also included providing 5 wheelchairs for people with special needs in addition to financing 10 micro-enterprise projects as well as distributing 5000 blankets to fight the cold.
Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima announced in the opening ceremony that the initiative will go for the second time to Sohag Governorate as the initiative had previously opened a development project in Awlad Yehia village in the same governorate. He added that a team from Egyptian Steel Group and Al Orman association will visit the new village to determine its requirements to start the development project.
Mr. Abou Hashima also said the opening of any village gives us the persistence to complete the initiative and to speed up the completion of the 40 villages that we promised to revamp and to target 40 other villages.
The Minister of Local Development, the Minister of International Cooperation and the Minister of Planning thanked Egyptian Steel Group for its efforts in the CSR field.
After opening Toshka village, the total number of homes that have been reconstructed is 709 houses, 550 head of cattle, 76,000 kg of meat, 6,700 clothing items, 50,000 blankets, 50 wheelchairs, helping 135 to get married and financing 145 small micro projects.
