Egyptian Steel Inaugurates the 4th Village in its Initiative for Developing the Neediest Villages in Upper Egypt”

Ahmed Abou Hashima, CEO of Egyptian Steel Group, affirmed that the initiative to revamp the neediest villages in Upper Egypt is going steadily and successfully with regular and scheduled framework. He confirmed that after inaugurating Awlad Yehia Bahry’s Village in Dar El Salam District-Sohag Governorate, Egyptian Steel’s team will conduct researches to decide on the fifth village development project and its name will be announced after a month.
He added that El Orman Association is a primary partner in the initiative that launched in June 2014. The initiative delivered 3 villages in Beni Suef governorate, Mahdy El Akhram, El Gharkad and Abo Saleh.
The initiative takes on the development of 20 villages in Upper Egypt considering that Upper Egypt suffers from poverty and deprivation.

Egyptian Steel’s development of this village included revamping of 42 houses, including 27 that have been totally removed and reconstructed due to their bad conditions. Each house consists of two rooms, a kitchen, bathroom and lounge including roofing the houses, interior and exterior paints, installation of doors, windows, plumbing and internal electricity connections, supplying clean water and electricity in addition to providing poor families with 100 heads of cattle, as well as an insurance policy of 400 pounds per month. 
In addition, 1000 kg of meat, 1,500 pieces of clothes, and 1,000 blankets for 500 families and 15 wheelchairs for people with special needs have been distributed in the village. An amount of 5000 pounds was given to 15 girls who are getting married and loans were provided for 15 cases to establish micro-enterprise projects.

General Adel Labib inspected the revamped houses and met the citizens to know their feedback and their satisfaction regarding the initiative. He thanked Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima and Dar El Orman for their pioneering role in developing poor villages. He also affirmed in the mass conference, held on the sidelines of the opening, that the Ministry of State for Local Development with the cooperation of Egypt’s Engineering Authority will take over the file of developing the poor villages through modernizing the infrastructure whether the sewage plants or the clean water, constructing and developing schools and health care units.
General Labib affirmed that President Abdel Fatah El Sisi is following up on this file; pointing that the sewage plants problem in Dar EL Salaam district will be resolved within two months
