The magnificent Godolphin Ballroom at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel in Dubai, witnessed the “Big Projects Middle East Awards”.
Held in November of every year, the Big Project Middle East Construction and Sustainability Awards of Excellence has become a benchmark of performance for the region’s construction industry. This year’s ceremony included 15 awards, given to companies and CEOs from across the GCC and MENA regions who have excelled in their field during 2016.
Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima has been granted the “Industry Leader of the Year” award, based on his excellence in leading Egyptian Steel Group into becoming the largest manufacturer of green steel globally. A 2-minute documentary about his accomplishments was screened before he was given the award.
The event was attended by a large number of executives of various construction industries, such as Majid Al Futtaim Group, Alec, the largest construction company in Dubai, UAE government officials such as WASL Asset Management Group and the Road and Transportation Authority (RTA).
Judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from across the region and hand-picked by the Big Project ME editorial team to ensure that there is no bias or compromise, these awards have gained a strong reputation within the construction industry. Held in conjunction with Big 5 Dubai, the black-tie dinner brought together hundreds of high-level guests from around the GCC and the MENA regions.
