“Egyptian Steel is capable of producing square billets of 130mm×130mm and 165mm×165mm configurations using steel making / casting route of Consteel Melting + Electric Arc Furnace + Ladle Refining + Continuous Casting steelmaking route. At Beni-Suef &  Al Ain Al Sokhna plants, bigger size billets (165mm×165mm) are directly rolled (no reheating furnace) into different configurations of rebar. Smaller size billets (130mm×130mm) are rolled as rebars and wire rod products of different configurations at Egyptian Steel plants of Port Said and Alexandria sites. The 165mm×165mm size billets are also exported to international customers (as and if required).
Egyptian Steel produces billets of chemical composition complying to several international standards (covering British, American, German, Russian etc. standards) for rebar, wire rod and structural steels with weldable and non-weldable requirements. A typical chemistry covered to produce billets for different standards is as given in the below table:
